About SF Mindful Insights

Philosphy & Approach

I believe therapy is a space for people to be their authentic selves, whether they are contemplating change or already moving through it. In session, we will approach whatever you’re facing collaboratively, guided by compassion. We will identify aspects of your life or yourself that you want to bolster and outline the path to achieving these goals. I consider the whole picture and will help you integrate this change, continuously drawing on research-backed treatments and approaches.

The therapy room is an open space to explore all thoughts and ideas and I will encourage you to bring forward areas of your life that you may hesitate to speak about. By developing an environment where speech can flow freely, we can learn what thoughts align with your values and what thoughts do not deserve to be over analyzed. I’m here to support you with care that truly honors who you are. I welcome people with diverse and intersectional identities, and I value the unique story you bring. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen.

Stephanie Kratunov-Randazzo, PsyD

the story

Stephanie understands firsthand the turbulence that can come from living with OCD and chronic pain and how important it is to connect to self-agency.

Dr. Stephanie Kratunov-Randazzo (formerly Dr. Randazzo), is a licensed psychologist in California and New York who specializes in working with adults living with anxiety disorders, OCD, and chronic pain conditions. She takes a compassionate and personalized approach that involves mindfulness and evidence-based therapies. Stephanie tailors treatment to best help each unique client that walks through her virtual door and often draws on multiple theories to provide care.

As a psychologist, not only does she understand the scientific background of OCD and chronic pain, but she also has a personal understanding of its impact on quality of life. Living with these conditions has taught her the importance of the right fit in therapy to help regain your sense of peace and presence. Professionally, Stephanie finds providing psychoeducation to her clients and their loved ones deeply rewarding as she empowers them to understand the ways they can regain agency throughout their life.

In treatment, she is guided by personalized treatment plans that align with the patients’ values, created through collaboration and continual feedback. Stephanie will conduct brief assessments to provide motivation and quantifiable measures on treatment progress, an often appreciated reflection of the clients’ own efforts.

Stephanie has over three years of experience working within integrated medical teams, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center and Stanford’s Cardiac Behavioral Medicine clinic. There she coached patients to engage in wellness behaviors to help manage chronic conditions that can leave one feeling consumed. She worked alongside patients to help them reconnect with their values in life. This often involved engaging in behavior changes to better their physical and mental state, such as learning the importance of sleep, identifying movement that is gentle, and managing stress through mindfulness.

Outside of Stephanie’s professional life, she is a New York native that now resides in California. Stephanie has many interests that keep her busy, such as learning how to cook new gluten-free meals, spending time in nature with her spouse and their dog, Stella, as well as learning Italian for the first time. Overall, she believes in bringing her authentic self into the therapy room and is often described by clients as “calm, attentive, and helpful for perspective shifting.” Through her compassionate and evidence-based lens, she helps people find resilience and enjoy the most valued parts of their lives again.
